Hungry for something sweet or spicy? Taste of Greater New Britain runs through Saturday
Thanks to the New Britain Herald for the article.
NEW BRITAIN - Whatever you’re craving, New Britain has it. Whether it’s fresh sushi, a hearty bowl of pasta, some savory kielbasa or a plate of seafood mofongo, you can find it in New Britain.
One great way to sample some of the city’s offerings is through the Taste of Greater New Britain, now in its fifth year.
“It’s a great opportunity to come out and find out what the many great New Britain restaurants have to offer,” said William D. Moore, president of the New Britain Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting the event. “It’s a lot of fun.”
“It’s been very successful,” Moore added, saying it’s a great deal, a great meal and a great time.
Thirteen restaurants are participating in the event. They each offer a special multi-course menu for $20.19. Many restaurants are offering a three course meal, said Nella Lastrina, director of administrative services for the chamber. Some, like Sweet Dreams Deli, has special hours just for the event.
It’s not only New Britain restaurants that are participating, however.
“This year we were actually able to bring in people from Plainville,” Lastrina said, along with one restaurant in Berlin.
Taste of Greater New Britain ends this Saturday, so stop by for a bite while you can. Call the restaurants ahead for their hours.
