Ion Bank Foundation Donates to Hoops4Life

Naugatuck, CT, - May 31, 2016 – Ion Bank Foundation presented a $1,000 check to Hoops4Life, Inc. Hoops4Life provides athletic and educational programs for youth. They learn leadership, teamwork, character, and life skills. Their objective is to provide year round personal development, both on and off the basketball court, in a safe environment.

“We are extremely grateful for Ion Bank Foundation’s generosity”, said Deneen Fryer. “The contribution will be used to keep registration costs at an affordable level”.

Since 2009, Hoops4life, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, has created opportunities for hundreds of student-athletes, boys and girls between 10-18 years old. Buoyed by their early success, Hoops4life, Inc. now partners with other youth programs around the state to extend its reach and provide more resources to local student-athletes from rural, suburban, and urban communities.

The education component is a summer science program that runs for 6 weeks, Science and Me (S.A.M.). This program gives youth the opportunity to participate in hands on activities, listen to speakers, and also includes a field trip to the Connecticut Science Center to increase their knowledge and awareness of science.

Summer registration is now open. Please go to the website www.hoops4lifect.org to get the registration forms or email Deneen at . Forms can be mailed to Hoops4life, Inc., 232 N. Elm St, Waterbury, CT 06702.
